Promoting Renewable Energy at La Digue School
In February 2015, S4S and Energy Solutions Seychelles partnered up to teach kids and teachers about green energy technologies, especially solar photovoltaic (PV) which has recently been installed at the school. Teachers brainstormed how to integrate teaching about renewable energy into the curriculum, and now the work begins. The project is being funded by the GEF PV project.

Renewable Energy Education in the Seychelles
S4S signed a contract with the UNDP /PCU office to develop a national campaign on renewable energy education targeting decision-makers, the private sector and residents. The project involved conducting some baseline research on current knowledge and practices, and developing the education campaign in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the growing number of renewable energy equipment suppliers in Seychelles.
Energy Efficiency Workshop
As part of UNDP Photovoltaic Rebate Scheme an Energy Efficiency workshop was held 23rd July 2014 in conjunction with the Seychelles Energy Commission, UNDP and GEF. All the PV companies and relevant stakeholders were invited to discuss what education for energy efficiency and PV systems is required in the Seychelles.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program (SEEREP)
S4S was also involved in the Seychelles Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program (SEEREP). On the 1st & 2nd of April 2014, it participated in the SEEREP Fair to promote the new incentive scheme for energy efficient appliances and PV systems. |
